I never thought Iqaluit would have great northern lights but apparently it does. We have some really good ones in Arviat so when Frank came home from work one day, late and and told me to come outside, I was flabbergasted. It was gorgeous and this time with a good hue of red. The man managed to pick up a brand new manfrotto monopod for $5 at a yard sale so the pics were a little better than last time though he is already writing a wish list for a tripod. And of course it has to be the $200 tripod, I am thinking that I should get a $800 serger
Some one had to stay with the kids so I just saw whats outside the house and Frank went up to the road to nowhere since its pitch black there so he got better pictures.

I like this one, not the best picture but because optical illusions seems to put the lights low enough that Frank can touch it is cool.

And Monday are not so bad when it comes to mail. If I dont get a truckload of parcel on Friday, I am pretty sure it will come on Monday. From time to time, I do get some unique prints and this was particularly cheap which was great! I got it because its cute and is it bad that Ava sees it then decides to hoard it..lol This is going to be pjs for her and for appliques.

And I’ve been coveting this print FOREVER and was lucky enough to be able to swap some of my fabric for 2 WHOLE YARDS of this, I am a very very happy girl. I am going to turn this into a queen size quilt for us but I need more of this print. So I hope I can find more of it. I LOVE this print. For my peeps, its Moda Lush Deers in sky colourway by Erin Michaels

A few weekends ago, we picked up this bean bag from a yard sale. It was in a “man’s room” so it went through a good washing before I let the kids sit on it. I am going to replace the cover for it..soon I hope with something more mod looking. Though our couch (in the background) has an english cottage, Laura Ashley-sque feel to it so I might stick with the same theme. But they love it! Ben however must improvise and have jumped from the top of the couch, not the seat but the headrest of the couch and down to the bean bag! He is making me have grey hairs now. I wasnt all for it at first since it does take a significant amount of space in the matchbox of a place we live in but I love it now, its nice and soft.

Other than that, I’ve been cutting squares to make a rags rug. I am not the most patient person so its definitely something for me to make a quilt let alone something that will take me weeks to finish. With the kids wardrobe done and done, I should have time to finish it a little faster. And they should have enough till at least next spring. wow!

nice photos

Wow awesome pictures! Very lucky of you to get to the northern lights every year. Love the “dessert” print fabric…makes me drool just looking at it. So is the deer print. Better now let my hubby look at it, he’s been bugging me to make a cover for our comforter!
