Jan 1, 2009

Though it will be Jan 2 in another 30 minutes. We had probably one of the worst new year. We stayed up, so did the kids and it was fine. Then we went to bed, but I was rudely awaken at around 3am from the sounds of shouting and screaming from outside the hotel room door. Drunk bitches were screaming and arguing with security personnel who wanted to kick them out for inapporiate behaviour, I totally agree and had to go out and tell them to take their “arguing” somewhere else, just not in front of my door when I have kids sleeping. It was so annoying. So we are getting reimbursed by the hotel.

I really dont get the whole point of getting hammered on NYE. Its like you make all this resolution and what a crappy way to start Jan 1, 2009 more than likely with a wicked headache. I understand a glass or two here and there from what I gather from the drunk bitches last night since I can hear every single slurring word she was saying, she passed out somewhere and had to be carried into the hotel and she is so hammered. What is the point? I think NYE is probably the time most homicide, rape and the most scary part, innocent people being killed by drunk drivers. Yeah I maybe a little paranoid but I dont really see the pull factor in going downtown and then trying hours to get home, nevermind the drinking.

I think the first time Frank and I celebrated NYE, we are apart, I was in Cambodia and he was in Singapore, the 2nd time, we had an early night, we had champagne at home and that was it. Now with the kids, its very low key, and its not a lame excuse but I think I am rather proud to say we stayed home in our jammies, relaxing and not having to worry about getting in and out of the car in the cold. NYE in Canada isnt really the most pleasant when it comes to the weather. We saw an outdoor concert in Toronto on TV and from the looks of it, the singers wanted to look cool but I bet they are shivering like mad, plus the girl who sang just when they did the countdown..SUCKS!

We did spent the day mostly shopping at the asian store since they are the only open, they open all year round anyways. And since we didnt get to sleep till 5am cause of the brawl, we didnt get up till noon either.I didnt make any resolution this year, though if Ben could talk, I probably ask him to make a NY resolution, sleeping much better would probably put him in my good books since he’s been on the bad side when it comes to that. Its 11.39pm and the kid just wont go to sleep, I’ve exhaust all possibility why he wont sleep. Maybe its just the way he is.

NYE doesnt give ppl the right to be inconsiderate u know?
