Child Labour

Not, not the kind being practiced by some disgusted company. Ava is getting bored of her toys, we are getting more age appropriate ones when we get down. Frank wants to get her a play kitchen, we shall see about that. I probably get her a toy sewing machine since she is showing much interesting in it. She was being uber naughty that I just got fed up and sat her on my lap as I finish some wardrobe refashion for Ben, she sat quietly on my lap and was pushing the shirt into the feeder, very cute indeed.

Lately, I’ve been making her do chores, mind you, I’ve been making her put away the laundry and stuff a couple of months ago but I’ve included more in her chore list and so far she has no issue. I do like this toddler stage though sometimes I dont especially when she is being naughty but understandably she is also learning. So far I’ve let her Read More…

Please let it stay cold

Never thought I wished for it to stay cold but I am. If it warms up that mean the fog is going to roll in and that means bad news for getting out of here. We are leaving in a couple of days and so far the weather has been good. It sure does sucks when the planes are the only hopes of anything going in and out of this community. No planes means no mail, no produce and not flying out. Some people did the foodmail program and most are coming in late. Read More…

I can finally post this!

A while back, I made some booties for Ben, then a blogger, Vien asked about how easy/difficult to sew it. But since I will be missing sewing it for a girl since Ben’s booties are pretty simple, I offered to sew it for her little one, Cassie. It turned out great, though I was working with denim and cotton since her little girl has ezcema and I wanted to use natural fabric so it wont irritate her skin.  I am glad she liked it and that it will fit her little girl for a while. I’ve been dying to blog about it but wont blog till she got the parcel which took 2.5 weeks! Read More…

Belated Mother’s day post

Happy Mother’s day to all moms!

I didnt have much going on since we were unpacking. I just had one request from Frank, to leave me to my own devices and take care of the kids. Well he did fulfill it for half a day, I think he admit defeat after that. I dont feel any difference be it mother’s day or not, I think mother’s day being celebrated one day of the year and not a public holiday is not really fair. Father’s and mother’s day should be deemed as public holiday.

Warming up

Its been really warm here, by arctic standard that is. Its been around -10 C and the highest have been around -2C. Ava is now walking with only her fleece jacket and regular pants. I am pretty much still wearing Ben in the amauti but now I dont need to put a jacket on him anymore and he will be in it with just regular pants and onesie. Read More…

We’ve been ridiculously busy, partly due to the move and also trying to pack for our upcoming trip. Its exciting but also tiring. We have 3/4 of our stuff unpacked and sorting thru some stuff to be send home. Then we are bringing in more stuff here but it will be mostly clothes for the kids for the fall and winter, food and some clothes for us. Read More…

It’s a very good day!

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, it did! Only a parent will understand this. Ben finally poop after 15 whole days! He is still exclusively breastfed and that constipation in breastfed infants are extremely rare. His poop was the usual breastfed poop. I thought it will be running down his legs and his back but it was much like 1 day worth of poop. I was concerned and asked a few friends and my midwife and they mentioned “human milk for human babies” eh and his body is doing a great job at metabolizing every single ounce of the liquid gold that there is no need for waste. But I am so glad he finally poop!

Thank you karma!

So all our stuff are finally moved to this other place. And of course with moving, nothing is perfect. No one lived in this house for so long so we had to drain the water tank and it was all brown water and has this weird smell to it and its causing me to have a headache. Since we have good neighbours, we ask them for water to drink. That is moving arctic style..lol you dont ask for salt but ask for drinking water. Read More…

Finally moved!

I am so ridiculously tired. We finally move and I cannot say yet how I will like this new place, one thing for sure, I am getting some exercise going up and down about 15 steps. We miss our massive frontyard view, now we just face other houses back and front. We are leaving next week, so I dont think I will recover yet from the fatigue.
