Duty travel

Frank went away last week, yes..again. I think he travels a wee bit more this time around, more like once every 10 days though the best part is at least its 3 – 4 days instead of an entire week. This time, duty calls to Resolute Bay/Resolute. Its pretty darn cool though. 2nd most northern community, the first is Grise Fiord. Read More…

I love fur!

I have 2 amautis, I love both of it equally for different purposes but unfortunately my trusty winter amauti is getting a tad small. Weaning in progress

I know I had posted that I wanted to try and breastfeed Ben as long as I can. But when he turned 2, he was nursing all the time that I am starting to really detest it. I dont mind so much during the day but the night time nursing is crazy, since he obviously dont need it, its a matter of comfort. Read More…

Freezin’

Its been cold here, no much of a surprise but still every few days, I mutter a few curse words under my breath. We’ve had a deep chest freezer for a while now, ever since we live in Arviat. It was one of those things that a friend who used to live in the north told us to get. And it served us well, at least in Arviat. Hunting is very good in Arviat and our freezer is mostly filled with caribou and char on top of the usual chicken, beef..etc but mostly “hunted” stuff since they are cheap. And we do have some out of the ordinary meats from time to time. I think we had seal in it before and of course polar bear meat. Read More…
